Stereo, SIA (registration no. 40203250775), trading as Stereo, is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. It covers our websites stereo.eu and lv.stereo.eu.
We collect only what you send us, technical data needed to run the site, and analytics data if you agree to it. The site has no forms or user accounts.

|---|---|---|
| You email or call us | Your name, contact details and what you write or tell us | To answer you and discuss projects |
| You apply for a job by email | Your CV, portfolio and contact details | To assess your application |
| You accept analytics cookies | Pages viewed, time on site, the site that referred you, device and browser type, approximate location (country, city) and a random visitor ID | To understand how the site is used and improve it |
| Every visit | IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser details | To deliver the website and protect it from abuse (handled by our host) |
| You open the contact page | IP address and browser details, sent to Snazzy Maps and Google through the embedded map | To show where our office is |
| You open a case study with a video | IP address, browser details and viewing activity, sent to Vimeo | To play the video |
Links to our Facebook and LinkedIn pages are plain links: those services receive nothing until you click them. We do not use advertising trackers, do not sell personal data, and make no automated decisions about you.
Each use of your data rests on one of the grounds in Article 6 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Answering enquiries and discussing projects | Steps you ask us to take before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); otherwise our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Job applications | Steps before an employment contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); your consent if we keep your CV for future openings (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Website analytics | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given through the cookie bar, as Latvia’s Law on Information Society Services also requires |
| Hosting and security logs | Our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Embedded map and video | Our legitimate interest in showing our location and our work (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
Our site sets two small cookies of its own. Google Analytics cookies are set only after you click “accept” in the cookie bar.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts | Needs your consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| stereo_consent | Stereo | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, on both stereo.eu and lv.stereo.eu | 180 days | No, it is needed to respect your choice |
| stereointro | Stereo | Shows the homepage intro animation only on your first visit; holds no personal data | 1 day | No |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells visits from different browsers apart with a random ID | 2 years | Yes |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit | 2 years | Yes |
The embedded map (Google, through Snazzy Maps) and the Vimeo video player may set their own cookies when they load; their privacy policies explain them.
To change your choice at any time, use the “cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, analytics stops and its cookies are deleted. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
A few service providers process data for us; we share it with authorities only when the law requires it.
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) | Hosts the website and runs our domain’s DNS |
| Google (Google Ireland Limited, Google LLC) | Our email (Google Workspace); Google Analytics if you accept it; the map on the contact page |
| Snazzy Maps | Provides the styled map on the contact page |
| Vimeo.com, Inc. (USA) | Plays the video on the Volfas Engelman case study |
Some of these providers process data outside the EU, mainly in the USA. Those transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, or otherwise on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
We keep personal data only as long as we need it, then delete it.
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Emails about enquiries and projects | Up to 3 years after our last contact, or longer where a contract or accounting law requires |
| Job applications | Until the position is filled, plus 6 months; longer only with your consent |
| Google Analytics data | 14 months, then deleted automatically |
| Your cookie choice | 180 days, then the cookie bar asks again |
| Hosting logs | A short period set by Cloudflare for operation and security |

You can also withdraw your consent to analytics at any time with the “cookie settings” link; this does not affect anything collected before. Write to andrey@stereo.eu and we will reply within one month.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to Latvia’s Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, www.dvi.gov.lv) or to the data protection authority where you live or work in the EU.
We update this policy when our website or the way we handle data changes; the date at the top shows the current version.
